* * San Diego Cutting Sale - April 5 & 6 - Southern California Plumeria Society's annual cutting sale - Balboa Park. Another fantastic sale! I think the prices are getting lower each year - and that's a good thing! Several members went over to California this year - and all came back very happy! Check out some photos: HERE
* * Annual Spring San Diego Trek 4 Cuttings - April 7 & 8, 2008 - The So Cal Plumeria Society once again had a great sale this year at Balboa Park, San Diego, California. Even though many members of the CA club lost tips and whole trees from this winter's freezes, they had lots of cuttings to offer. There were lots of people from Arizona this year all wanting to add plumeria to their landscape. Another vendor had Jim Little cuttings direct from Hawaii. The cars leaving the sale were stuffed with cuttings as usual.
* * Club Member Luau! - We had another great club luau this year. The weather was gorgeous and the food, once again, delicious. Everyone had a good time and by night's end - the food was gone. We had a White Elephant gift exchange - but there wasn't a white elephant in sight. Everyone brought beautiful gifts. We hope to have another luau soon as a fundraisering event to help a local charity or give a scholarship to a worthy recipient.
* * Fourth Annual CLUB PLUMERIA SALE - October 21, 2006 was our annual plumeria plant, seed, and seedling sale with the 2006 Fall Festival. We had a booth full of beautiful plumeria plants. We had a lot of interest in our plumerias again this year. Everyone seems to want to give one a try. We even had people from years past give us updates on the plants they purchased from us. They were all doing great. We hope you come see us next year.
* * Annual Fall San Diego Plumeria Sale - September 9 & 10, 2006, Balboa Park, San Diego, California. Once again a nice group of club members made their way across the desert to San Diego to attend the fall potted plumeria sale hosted byt the Southern California Plumeria Society. As usual, there were hundreds of plumeria plants for sale - all kinds of varieties, shapes, sizes, and prices. There were so many plants it was hard to choose which ones we wanted. There were so many people it was hard to move around the room. This sale seemed to be twice as big as last years in plants and attendance. They may need to find a bigger place to hold it next year if the attendance and plants keeps growing. But the crowds did not stop us ... everyone came home with a huge stash of plumeria trees.
* * Annual Spring Caravan To San Diego - April 1 & 2, 2006, Balboa Park, San Diego, California. This was our second trek to San Diego to attend the Southern California Plumeria Society's Plumeria Cutting Sale. Again, it was a great time. We had a group of eight people go this time. We all met for a hearty breakfast before a long day of plumeria shopping. There were 1,000's of plumeria cuttings of every size, shape, color, and variety. There was something for everyone. We then all went to lunch in "Little Italy" and had a great time talking with each other and several Southern California Plumeria Society club members. We made some new friends and plumeria connections. Everyone left for Arizona with a car load of plumerias and the excitement of getting their cuttings into pots. The next trek to California is in September for the annual potted plant sale - another sale not to be missed.
* * Garden Tour & Cutting Sale - On Sunday, March 19, 2006 a group from our club went on a pre-garden tour of real gardens. Real gardens meaning that they are gardens anyone can grow. The tour, Real Gardens For Real People was put on my the Master Gardeners. Although it rained that day, we still had a great time viewing all the gardens and garden jewelry. Check out some photos from the tour - HERE.
Then on March 25, 2006 the Real Gardens For Real People Tour took place. Our club was a vendor at the tour and sale. The crowds at the sale were huge, the day was sunny, and everyone had a great time. We hope everyone who got a chance to try our cuttings will have beautiful blooms in the near future. Check out the photos - HERE.
* * Our Club Plumeria Presentation was given to the Valley Of The Sun Gardening Club on March 6, 2006 at the Valley Garden Center. We had a great evening and a huge group of people interested in learning about Plumerias. Our club was well represented by a 8 panel member group that gave advice, answered questions, and helped make the presentation a success. We brought live, blooming plumeria plants and gave handouts to all participants so they could give plumerias a try one day. There were lots of questions and everyone seemed very interested in our wonderful plants. We gave each garden club member a free raffle ticket and raffled off two plumeria plants and a plumeria seedling. Take a look at our Presentation Photos - HERE
* * Club Member Luau! - LU - WOW !!!! - What a great event we had on a beautiful November evening with a sliver of the Moon gleaming and Venus rising. Although this was our first luau and a trial run, everything went really smoothly even with the large group we had. We had Hawaiian decorations, Hawaiian music, tiki torches, and everyone was in bright Hawaiian dress. We had a beautiful oven roasted pig and members brought their favorite Hawaiian dishes. Sooo much food and oh so ONO (good). We hope everyone had a great time. We enjoyed your company and your Aloha spirit! We hope to have another luau next year and use it as a fundraiser by inviting other garden clubs. So watch for news on this. Take a look at our Luau photos - HERE
* * Third Annual CLUB PLUMERIA SALE - Another very successful event for us. The 2005 Fall Festival was Saturday, October 22, 2005 at MetroTech!
* * Annual Fall Caravan - Our club trekked over to San Diego to partake in the Southern California Plumeria Society's rooted plant sale. There was a sea of plumeria plants as far as the eye could see. All plants were rooted - growing and blooming. If you are ever looking for a special variety, do not miss this sale.
* * Club Luncheon & Plumeria Tour - On July 23, 2005, members and guests had a great time at our first club luncheon at The Royal Palms Resort & Spa. We sat down to a gourmet lunch and afterwards toured the historic grounds of this beautiful hotel. We saw many large Singapore plumeria trees within the landscape, as well as, the Rubra varieties. Many trees were 15 feet or more tall. Others were tucked into the landscape and hard to find, but we found quite a few. Most of the trees were in bloom and beautiful. It was nice to see well established plumerias trees growing happily in the desert. Join us for the next luncheon. Check out the photos! PHOTOS of TOUR
* * Annual Spring Caravan - Our club trip to San Diego in the Spring of 2005 went well. We had a nice representation at the Southern California Plumeria Society cutting sale. We met many So Cal club members and they made us feel very welcome. They had hundreds of fresh, healthy cutting, and we came home with many of them. Make sure you join us for our Fall trek over to San Diego.
* * Second Annual PLUMERIA SALE - HUGE Success - October 23, 2004
* * 2004 SPRING EVENT - HYPERTUFA WORKSHOP - SAT, April 10, 2004 - 10 AM - 2 PM
* * Valley Of The Sun Plumeria Society participated in the 2003 Fall Garden Festival hosted by the Maricopa County Master Gardeners - October 25, 2003. The sale was a huge success to say the least. We sold out of every single plumeria plant, seedling, and seeds. Thanks to all who participated and those who purchased! Next year's sale promises to be bigger and better! Watch for date.
