PLUMERIA VARIETIES BEST SUITED FOR ARIZONA'S WINTERS

COLD & FREEZE TOLERANT PLUMERIA VARIETIES

Here is a list of some of the Plumeria varieties that consistently make through our Arizona winters. They were winterized and covered. We had several very severe freezes in the last few years although only for a few day. None the less, damage is done. Depending on your elevation and area micro-climates, you may have had some Plumeria varieties freeze and others make it. To help prevent loss, check out our tips for Winterizing Plumeria.

We have found that Plumerias planted in the ground do better than those planted and wintered in pots.

Although you will lose Plumeria plants over the winter if it gets near freezing no matter what you do, these varieties have shown stamina at 2300 foot elevations. Just remember, if you do lose plants - there are always more. Don't spend a fortune on a plant or cutting until you have your winterizing plan down well. If you must, bring your special or expensive plants indoors for the winter.

If you have a Plumeria variety that does well in Arizona, please let us know. We will add more varieties as we find them.
